FIRST DISTINCTION

A planet is a function, not a personality type.

Everyone has every planet in the chart. Saying “I am not very Venus” skips the useful question: which sign, house, and aspects shape the way value and relationship work in this particular chart?

SPEED CHANGES THE SCALE

Personal signal to generational weather.

Slower planets need more context before they become individually specific.

Sun · Moon

Luminaries

The two visible lights. The Sun describes conscious authorship and vitality; the Moon describes instinctive regulation and memory. They are not planets astronomically, but astrology groups them with the chart’s planetary bodies.

Mercury · Venus · Mars

Personal planets

Fast enough to differentiate individual charts clearly. They describe thought and exchange, value and relating, then drive and assertion—the everyday functions through which a person meets the world.

Jupiter · Saturn

Social planets

These slower bodies connect personal life to wider systems of growth, belief, opportunity, limits, time, responsibility, and earned authority. Their cycles become visible across longer chapters.

Uranus · Neptune · Pluto

Generational planets

Whole age groups can share a sign, so sign alone is rarely personal enough. House position, exact aspects to faster planets, and angularity show how a collective theme enters an individual chart.

THE TEN-BODY INDEX

Start with the question each planet asks.

Five personal-planet files go deeper. The complete table gives every slower body a precise job inside the chart.

HOW TO READ ONE PLACEMENT

Do not stop at the sign.

  1. 01

    Name the planet’s job

Keep the function clean before adding style. Mars acts; Venus values; Mercury translates.

  2. 02

Let the sign describe the method

The same function gets a different pace, strategy, and language in each zodiac sign.

  3. 03

Use the house as the arena

With an exact birth time, locate where this function becomes concrete in lived experience.

  4. 04

    Add only the loud aspects

Tight conjunctions, sextiles, squares, trines, and oppositions show the strongest exchanges.
